This film, coming to public televsion, is the story of lighting the night - a very dim light indeed from the time people first
mastered fire, until a century ago, when we began wiring our big cities to an electric power grid.
Now, we can recycle the sun to light the night. Enough sunlight reaches the earth every day to light the night and meet
all our other power needs as well.
